CRISP EU FP7

The Laboratory of Soft Energy Applications, in collaboration with six (6) universities and research institutes abroad (United Kingdom, Netherlands, Norway, Hungary, and Lithuania) as part of the European FP7 Program, the European Program CRISP (CReating Innovative Sustainability Pathways across Europe), with the aim of achieving sustainable development for Europe by 2030. The program examines specific aspects of energy consumption in the residential sector, the ways in which we travel, and nutrition issues.

The aim of CRISP is to develop future sustainable living scenarios for the year 2030, as well as transition pathways (changes in policy, practices, culture, and habits) towards these scenarios, with an emphasis on the systematic participation of citizens. To this end, visions of the possible future of each of the six countries have been compiled, and three basic scenarios for future living (Local Community – Ethical World – iTech) as imagined by the youth of Europe. Important elements of the research program are drawn from the MSc in Energy course “Technology Futures and Business Strategies.”

The scientific coordinators of the project on behalf of the Piraeus University of Applied Sciences are Professors Dr. I.K. Kaldellis and Dr. Emilia Kondyli.
